Phonpasit Phissamay
Phonpasit Phissamay is an engineer-economist specialising
in management information systems. He has been a staff member of the Science
Technology and Environment Agency, Lao PDR, since 1995. He was the manager
of the PAN-Laos project, which launched the first e-mail service in the country.
Phissamay was appointed Director of the Information Technology Centre in
2000. He is presently responsible for ICT R&D, training and services
throughout the country. He helped to establish the IT training centre and
was appointed secretary of the Lao National Internet Committee in 2001, which
operates the Lao National Internet Gateway and the government ISP.
