Izumi Aizu
Izumi Aizu is Principal of Asia Network Research and Executive
Research Fellow of GLOCOM. Born in 1952 in Japan, Aizu spent his early
professional life in the printing and international marketing industries
before engaging in producing software manuals in the early 1980s. He started
to promote PC networking in the mid-1980s and the Internet in early 1990s.
He established Asia Network Research in Malaysia in 1997 and in Tokyo in
2000. His research focus is the proper use of the Internet in society, including
policy and strategic issues, based on the end-user's viewpoint and value.
He is a member of At Large Advisory Committee of ICANN and was a member of
the Digital Opportunity Task Force set up by the G8 representing Japanese
NPO, as well as an advisory member of the Internet Policy Program at Aspen
Institute.
